Solitaire is considered to be an ancient game. It is believed that solitaire was invented many centuries ago. The exact century when the game was invented is unknown. Deck of Cards

There are many forms of this game. Different forms of solitaire have different sets of rules. In the basic game of solitaire, there are 52 cards. Each deck of cards has four suits and has thirteen cards in each of Hearts, Spades, Diamonds, and Clubs. Each suit then has four ace cards, Jack, Ace, King, and Queen. And each suite has cards numbered from two to ten.

Setup of the online game

Piles in the game: There are four piles in the online games of solitaire.

The Stock – The Stock has a set of cards with their face inverted downwards. This pile is on the upper left corner of the game.

The Waste- This pile of cards is placed right next to the stock in the upper left corner of the game.

The Foundation- Four piles of the Foundation are placed in the upper right corner of the game, opposite to the waste and stock.

The Tableau- Seven piles of the Tableau are placed on the main center of the game.

Setup of the game- The tableau cards are numbered from 1 to 7. It has a unique set up of cards. The first pile has 1 single card in it, the second pile has 2 cards, and the third pile has three cards, and so on till the 7th pile which has 7 cards in it. The card on top of each of the pile is exposed and kept facing upwards. All the other cards are kept facing downwards. After filling up the cards in the Tableau pile, the remaining cards are placed in the pile of Stock. The Waste and Foundation have no cards at the beginning of the game.

The objective of the game- To win the game, the players have to move all the cards in the Foundation pile. There are four piles in the Foundation. In each pile of the foundation, there are categories of one suit and all the other cards are in the category of Ace, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, Jack, Queen and King. There are special moves and tricks to move the cards in the above order.

How to play the game?

The main objective of this game is to move all the cards to the Foundation. There are rules to use the cards from the deck.

Moves allowed playing and winning the game.

Do not move the cards until you are sure it will be beneficial.

Move cards from the stock to waste- The player is allowed to move 1 or 3 cards from the pile of stock to waste.

Move cards from waste to foundation- The player can move the top cards of waste to the foundation by dragging the cards.

The ace and deuces cards are to be played immediately

Flip the cards- Each player can flip cards from the cards in stock to the cards in waste. The number of cards here can be configured from the settings of the game.

Duration of the game- At the end of the game, the number of moves made during the game is counted. The time is taken to finish the game is recorded. Thus, in order to win the next game, you have to finish the game in time duration lesser than the previous one.

Solitaire is one of the oldest and most famous games in the world. It is also known as” Patience” in the United States and Canada. It is a simple card game. Just like any other game, it has some key rules to play. There are many solitaire games that can be played live on just a table. The aim of the game is to remove all the cards from your side and assemble them systematically in the tableau before eliminating them.

About the Game

In the beginning, there are 54 cards for the player. The total cards are piled up in sets of 10, distributed almost in the same ratio. The cards in the Tableau pile are set up in a systematic order arranged in a specific manner. There are in total 7 piles. The first pile has 1 card. The second pile has two cards, the third one has three. This cycle continues for all of the seven piles. The topmost card on each pile is kept with its face facing upside and the cards below the first kept inverted. The cards left after the Tableau is set are stocked up.

Types of piles in Solitaire

There are four different kinds of piles in the game of solitaire:

  • The Stock- Placed in the left corner, all these cards are kept facing downwards.
  • The Waste- The cards with their face turned upwards and exposed, are kept in this pile, right next to the stock.
  • The Foundation- These are four piles kept in the upward corner on the right side.
  • The Tableau- These are seven piles kept in the center of the game. They make up the main portion of the game table.

The Objective of the game- The aim of the game is to eliminate all the cards from the center and move them to the foundation pile. Each foundation has the category of one suit and all the cards are supposed to be in the order of Ace 2 ,3 ,4 ,5 ,6 ,7 ,8 ,9 ,10 Jack , Queen and King. Specified moves are explained below by which you can get your cards in the above order.

Moves allowed to win the game.

Flipping the cards- Each player is allowed to flip either 1 or 3 cards from the cards in stock to the cards in waste. The number of cards here can be configured or changed from the settings/ options of the game.

Move one card from waste to foundation- If by the rules, the top card of the waste can go to the cards in the foundation, you can drag and move them there.

Move one card from waste to Tableau- The card on the top of the waste can be moved to the cards in the tableau.

Move one card from foundation back into tableau- Top card of the foundation can be moved back to the cards in the tableau.

Duration of the game- The game doesn’t run on time. The number of moves made during the game is counted. The time is taken to finish the game is counted and recorded. Thus to win the next game, you have to finish the game in time lesser than the previous one.
